It's all over

The dance just ended. The banquet is over. I am multitasking between facebook and packing. (Minjee, which one is winning)? Camp is coming to an end. As much as I want my bed, my shower, my food, I will miss all of you. This was the best experience I could have ever asked for. Thank you all for being a part of it.

To Everyone...

Each one of your mean so much to me...

Cecil: I LOVED your class! I learned so much and wrote some awesome pieces while I was here. I can't believe the week is over and it's time to go home already. (well, soon). Hopefully I'll get to have you again in the future.

Grace: Bondy. Bondy. Bondy :) It has been great to hear your writing and your personality come out through your writing. Your abortion editorial was amazing, plain and simple.

Anna: Your quietness, but sweet personality balanced all of our loud mouths during class. You put up with our endless conversations.

Andrew: It was great to get to know you not only in class, but at lunch today too. You are an amazing writer.

Beth: You are so sweet! I loved eating lunch with you and hanging out and talking. I hope we keep in touch since we live so close!

Vanessa: What can I say about you? I love your confidence and personality. You are outspoken, but in a good way.

Chinue: I am glad you were in my class. I love the unique way you write and share your thoughts.

Minjee: Everyone loves Minjee! haha. Thank you for being the best next-door neighbor! I loved getting to know you while I failed at fixing your Internet and I loved that you sat next to me in class.

Kaila: You're gorgeous and your personality shines. Thank you for sharing your work with me and letting me know what to expect on everything!

Alexis: You're soooo smart! You are a good writer and great person. I am glad I got to meet you.

All of you: Thank you for everything! This week has been the best. I am going to miss everyone. Please keep in touch. Find me on facebook!

Love,
Nicole :)

And the award goes to...

It's our last day here at journalism camp. It's been quite an experience. I must say that though I am ready to go home (I miss by own bed and shower!), I wouldn't trade this week for the world.

Now, getting to the title of this post. I believe Cecil should win an award tonight. We have all learned during so much during this week in this class. I think we should honor that.

Last day

OMG its the last day. This has been the longest week ever. Seriously. It's kind of bittersweet. We'll go home pretending that we're so glad it's over. And in some shape or form we will. But you know you'll miss being here, being on the floors you shouldn't be or ripping of the "sacred" name tag. We'll remember the times and laughter. Here's to UGA guys. Peace OUT! : )

Last Day Bittersweet Blues

Kinda an oxymoron.
I miss my mommy and sister and dog. I miss my bed and my shower. I miss my food.
I'll miss my new friends. I'll miss Grady and Cecil and Joe and all the counselors. I'll miss my roommate. I'll miss this beautiful town. I'll miss the freedom and trust. I'll miss you all.

Tomorrow will be filled with emotions: sadness, relief, exhaustion, happiness, nostalgia. Tonight we will get dressed up, eat good food, and dance the night away. We'll go back to the dorm pack up our stuff shower and sleep. Tomorrow morning we'll say our goodbyes and go our separate ways. Some of us will meet again, while others will talk through facebook for a couple of months before drifting apart. Sadly, it's a part of life.

Right now, lets focus on the day ahead and leave the bittersweet blues for tomorrow.

Last Day

I have a tendency to use humor to communicate with people because its easier for me but i just want to honestly say how much I enjoyed this class, surprisingly even though we had a room full of opinionated people no one ever cut any one off or acted rudely to anyone simply because of an opposing view point. So thanks guys I really enjoyed the class, now for a joke.

Even later nights

So interesting things happen last night. I had surprise alarm go off at 12 in the morning. Yeah it was the sound of two stupid kids followed by some seriously frantic counselors. Safe to say I was not happy last night.

How do you eat a zebra? One bite at a time...

Last night, something momentous happened.

Actually, it wasn't momentous. Some kids were doing some things they shouldn't have been doing in places they shouldn't have been. And then the counselors were running around, banging on doors, trying to figure out who was where. Around 12:30, they banged on my door, and I was like HAY GUYS I'M TRYING TO HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH MY ROOMMATE WHAT GIVES. And they were like IS IT JUST THE TWO OF YOU IN HERE and we were like YEAH WHAT'S GOING ON

No answers though, of course. This whole ordeal reminds me of when the zebra escaped from the Atlanta Zoo and was running around midtown. It's a ZEBRA. Not a lion. IT'S NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL. At least a zebra wouldn't have slammed the dorm doors all night...

What?

This followed by two more words (guess) probably came out of every campers mouth last night. Unfortunately some young adventures decided to go on some twisted sort of escapade last night at the expense of the rest of us. Not only was my room searched but since my dorm room was conveniently next to the stairs me and Keno Jones became an integral part of the counselors discussions. I don't know what happened last night i don't think anyone really does except for the two people involved, I also don't understand why two campers including liz left last night due to some crazy rumor that was being spread around? Any way we ave a carnival planned so tonight should be fun See ya there

Hey! I was sleepin' here!

So last night, as most of you know anyway, there was a bit of pandemonium at the dorm. Personally, my door was pounded on three separate times. Each of those visits revealed the counselors reassuring my roommate and me that "Everything's okay." My response? Unless there's some creep who's a potential threat to our safety running around the building, I don't care. Just let me sleep!

At this morning's meeting, Joe sent the counselors out of the room so we "rockstars" could ask him any questions we may have about the goings-on at Morris. Basically nothing was confirmed or denied (Which I understand. People's business is people's business), but I would enjoy an at least somewhat satisfying morsel for my teenage curiosity. Ah well, we'll all just assume the worst :) (Nah, just kidding!)

DRAMA

there is way to much drama for this to be a journalism camp
i'm pretty sure we're being secretly filmed for a reality show on mtv
thats the only way there could be this much drama at Rockstar Acadamy

Hall Check.

Okay, so apparently, some creepers were running down the hall last night or something along those lines and all these counselors were like flipping out about it. I was hearing a lot of movement upstairs, but just thought it was people moving from room to room.

Oh I was wrong.

After successfully creeping on my roommate for probably the 3rd time that night, I heard a knock on the door. It was one of the counselors trying to find out if my roommate and I were there, which seemed kinda odd to me considering they haven't done that since the first night. That night made me believe that the head counselor could apparate since like two seconds before he knocked on our door, I could have sworn he was upstairs or something.

I didn't think it was a big deal, but everyone else did.
Oh well.

Why Not Just Knock?

It was 12:20 and my roommate and I were talking about our days. Where we went shopping, what we ate, who we saw, everything. All of the sudden we heard banging only to find out it was on our door. Why not just knock? I jumped out of bed thinking something was weird and saw two counselors standing outside my door asking if my roommate was in the room too. Of course she was. All of the sudden one of the counselors started sprinting down the hall and down the stairs. What the hell? Naturally, the other counselor told me everything was going to be okay, that I was safe, and to go to sleep. I would have bought it; i did buy it. For five minutes at least. That's when we got the second thrashing on our door asking the same questions all over again and resulting more or less then same way. I wasn't scared, I knew I was safe, I was annoyed. Just as I was closing my eyes the final, and loudest desperate banging took place on our door. I jumped out of bed really annoyed and wanting to sleep. The same questions were asked again and the same conclusion was said. It was 1:30 before my roommate and I could fall asleep. We were quite tired this morning to say the least.

Yesterday was filled with drama. I really don't want to go into it all. I am so grateful to have this opportunity and although yesterday was the most exhausting, overwhelming day ever, I wouldn't change it for the world. :)

Say Whaaaa

Okay so apparently something super exciting happened last night, but I missed out on it. As always. I think it was like... some kid escaped from the clutches of the dorm rooms and went streaking around the hallways.

At least that's how I heard it.

Nobody touched my dorm last night at all. Nobody banged on it, nobody yelled at us, which was really weird since everyone else got like, three door bangs or whatever. I didn't even know what happened until this morning.

Which was just as well, since my roommate pretty much went crazy on her sugar rush last night. The last I remember, she was singing today's schedule to me and flipping off of my bed, which I still don't know how she accomplished.

Per Cecil's Request

So here, on behalf of the beginning of the second session of our class today, is a full review of the restaurant Transmetropolitan. In addition to being aromatic, unique, and with food full of complementary flavors, Transmetro was delightfully delectable. I had the grilled portabella and swiss panini with roasted red potatoes. Of course I am quite the connoisseur of Italian food and mushrooms in general, so if you want to find out about the quality of this restaurant I suggest you grab a bite (or many bites) there yourself. You won't be disappointed!

Late NIghts

Through the discussion craze discussions of J. Biebz's escapades and printer malfunction, late night sessions proved interesting. After the numerous cans of Rockstar and the instant sugar high, people became looser, creating a really fun atmosphere. Where in the world does this energy go in the morning? Come on guys!

Juicy?

No one liked my word "juicy." I got challenged twice, and then double-challenged, so that was saddening.

Thanks for bringing down my vibe guys..

Sigh.

Perspective Collective: PART 1

HAY THAR GUYS.

This is Grace, Anna and Vanessa. Group blogging. And we're gonna write a FICTIONAL story together, just for you guys. And it's FICTION.

The sun was beginning to slip behind a blanket of darkness when I saw him. He was standing obliquely in a crowd of people. 6'7 with red hair like the sun that was no longer visible. He had eyes like a glittering diamond lake. Of evil. He wore a black oxford shirt with cufflinks. His hair was perfect. Flawless. The marks still visible from where he had brushed it earlier. He smiled at me in a way that was so inhuman I can't even begin to describe it.

"Sup Sunny?" He asked with a wicked grin.

I gasped. He had never before spoke to me. He was a peasant. I was a princess. This was an outrage. I ran back to the castle to tell my father, King Jobe, to have him beheaded...

SUPER HAPPY FUN TIME

All right yesterday was pretty awesome I played a great game of laser tag if I do say so myself and took home a respectable sixth place, I then spent the rest of the day driving go carts with Elliot and Reggie. During that time I potentially made some enemies due to the fact that I was not afraid to bump into people. Let me just say this I am sorry if I more than likely crashed into you it was nothing personal at that moment in time I just didnt like you jk. Nah it was great and I had a lot of fun cant wait to walk around downtown see ya there.

High school blues?

hey guys as you know i'm doing a story on pressure students face in high school to get into college. I wanna know like on a scale of 1-100 how stressed do you feel and if manifested physically to a point where you've just had to stop. like my friend took 4 APs played 2 sports and had a job and she ended up in the hospital for having an anxiety attack. It doesn't have to be something major like that say you decided to take the day off because you literally couldn't function any more. Thanks!

Fun-a-polis :)

last night was greatttt :) i had lots of fun with the crew. Bumper cars and air hockey were def the high light of my night. Kieno, i hate you! lol. The go carts were fun too, 2nd place babyyyyyy! whooo hooo.

My article is finally starting to come together. Interviews are being conducted and research is extensive. I left my flash drive in my other purse so i am going off nothing.... great! Tonight i am going to have to buckle down and do 2 classes of work done in one. I think i can pull it off though... hopefully!

Title?

So, as the entire world knows, we went to Funopolis yesterday. I don't have any really exciting stories to tell. Well, actually, I do. ;) But I'll leave that for later... I went on the go-karts and it was AWFUL. I get that you don't need to know how to drive to drive a go-kart, but USE SOME COMMON SENSE, CHILDREN. And don't ram into people. :( I was going around a turn, and I was going at maximum speed when Justin Bieber rear ended me. HARD. COME ON J. BIEBZ, WHAT GIVES? And then he started fishtailing. On dry pavement... This is what I get for taking driver's ed and then doing go-karts. D:

OH HAI. Guys, what are your GPAs/top college choices? Need some info for my article. :)

Roommate Update

Day three three three at UGA!

I know you guys probably don't really care, but I have an update on my roommate! So pretty much, we're about to go to sleep, and I make my roommate go to the bathroom BEFORE we go to sleep so that I won't have, like, a mini-heart attack when she goes in the middle of the night.

But that's beside the point.

So anyways, guess what guys? Apparently I sleep-talk. This time, it was my roommate who was woken up by me, and she kind of freaked at first. She said that I screamed out, "THANK YOU!!!" really loudly in my sleep, and she thought I was awake so she was all, "thank you for what? Minjee? Why'd you say thank you?" and then she was watching me, and after I screamed out thank you, I sat up and looked around the room with my eyes closed and then fell back down. She told me, and I quote, "I nearly died laughing 'cause it was the funniest thing I've ever seen in my life."

Well, at least I'm polite in my sleep.

Third Day... Yay :)

I don't think words can describe how excited I am to go downtown today. I am meeting a family friend for lunch since she is moving tomorrow to Texas and then I'm going shopping with my amazing friends. I can't wait to walk around downtown and daydream about living there in a year. haha.

Super Happy Fun Time was a lot better than I excepted. On the bus ride over I didn't really want to go, but that quickly changed after we jumped on the bumper cars and started bumping away. I spent all $5 given to me for arcade games on the roller coaster simulator. I haven't decided if it was worth it yet. I was left feeling queasy, but I did it with a great friend so it made it more entertaining. Next, I went rock climbing. Surprising, because I am terrified of heights. I did it though, made it all the way to the top once, rang the bell, and hung on for dear life as I plunged down to the safety of the solid ground. After that, we did go-karts where I was the designated driver and Liz was my passenger. It was great until someone decided to bang into us so they could go around us. Although we got cut off a couple of times, made some sharp turns, and went way too fast, it was fun. I saved the water for last. I told myself I didn't want to get wet, but with the water balloons taunting me, I went for it. I got wet, but not soaked... yet. I don't know if I was stupid or just caught up in the moment, but I decide to do the bumper boats. I was left drenched. Not only did I get caught near the fountain shooting out water, but each boat had a squirt gun attached. Let's just say the bus ride home was a little chilly.

Well, I need to go finish my article so I can enjoy myself later. :)

Political beliefs

hey guys could you list your political beliefs and then those of your parents/guardians, also do you think parents influence their children's political ideologies why or why not?

Helping to Make a Decision

It's only the third day here at UGA, but this experience has already started to guide some of the choices I will make over the next two years. First, the negative. Lately I have been considering smaller Liberal Arts schools, but attending UGA was definitely an option. I'm loving my time spent here, but such a large school is not for me. The programs are top quality, but a smaller school is more my style. Now the positive. I came into this program pretty much certain that pursuing a career in journalism was my game plan, but there was room for change. Now I've decided that journalism is my passion and am even more anxious to begin college and make my way into the world of mass communications.

P.S. Funopolis was full of pandemonium :)

Third day @ UGA

I can barely sit still in class! I can't wait to go downtown with my friends to eat and shop. After that, we have a seminar with Joe, which I am sure will be interesting. We work super late tonight, hopefully I can go to bed when we get back to the dorm hall! UGA has been great so far, super happy fun time was surprisingly okay. I didn't feel so great after the rollercoaster simulator, though! Tomorrow night we have Grady After Dark, which I am very excited for. Its supposed to be a picnic dinner and carnival! But for now I should get to work so I can actually enjoy myself downtown later!

Dress Codes vs. Uniforms

Which one do you guys prefer? Do you think dress codes are helpful or would you rather just stick to a uniform throughout high school?

If you could list your name, high school, and whether its public or private that would be great. Thanks!

Day Two Wrap Up

Today was an entertaining day to say the least. I am enjoying my stay on the UGA campus, this really is a beautiful school! My article on senior privileges is fun for me to write so thats good too. I met quite a few people today, and I laughed at quite a few people as well. Sounds mean but I laugh a lot, I can't help it. I'm one of those people who just laugh because I'm thinking of something funny in my head but no one knows why I'm laughing so they just stare at me. I'm really hungry right now because we had a super early dinner (Just a heads up, if you see a creature devouring the breakfast table tomorrow, its not Godzilla, its just me). I'm gonna get some sleep because tomorrow we get to explore Athens on our own. That deserves a cheer...WOOOHH!!!!! goodnight my crazy rockstars!

Day Two

Now that day two of classes is winding down, I can honestly say that I am really enjoying UGA. During our afternoon class today, we worked individually on our articles and looked up sources. I think my article is coming together pretty well. Super Happy Fun Time was much better than expected... the go-carts were the highlight for me. Tomorrow we have three hours on our own in Athens, which I am SO ready for! I'm excited to get to see what its like being an actual student here. I'll be back blogging later :)

Day Two!

Camp thus far has been great. I do miss those from last year, however, meeting new people is always a great thing. I have made new friends and hope that the rest of the trip continues to go well. This year I chose the editorial topic of teen pregnancy with reflection on the pregnancy pact. My room mate Ke'Ana Clark is my best friend and she is a feature writer with a similar topic. We have that best friend thing going on! haha. I miss my family lots. I plan to call them after super happy fun time (my favorite, well besides friday night). I can tell saturday will be bitter sweet :/

why?

Why do y'all think celebs particulary girls, like Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Tisdale, grow up so fast? What influences them? Who influences them?

Thanks! :)

Garg.

As the second day is whisking by, I feel like my mind is either blanking out or purposefully avoiding proper focus techniques. I'll go page to page, formulating new ideas and coming up with ways to incorporate this new information into my brain.

But it seems like the procrastinator in me is just getting in the way. Even during summer, my brain is acting like it's school time all over again and I'm trying to avoid homework. Though, luckily, I got most of my information down even with Brittini freaking me out over there with her college statistics. Maybe after "Super Happy Fun Time", I'll get most of the procrastination out and keep thinking of ways to format this piece.

Hopefully, I can get rid of this.

Bookstore

I went to the UGA bookstore today. It wasn't the first time I have been there before, but the first time in about 2 years. I feel in love all over again. I am coming to UGA no matter what. Liz and I promised ourselves that when we got accepted we would go back to the bookstore just to buy the gray t-shirt that says you attend the Grady College of Journalism & Mass Communication. It'll happen. You'll see :)

Freaky Roommate Dream

So Grace's post about her freak dream inspired me to do another one, this time about my dream from the first night.

So I had a dream that my roommate was like, out to get me, right? And she had a bat, and just as she was about to beat me with it, I woke up. So it's like, 3 am, and I became really paranoid so I pretty much slept on my side the rest of the night with one eye on my roommate's sleeping silhouette, just in case she decided to make my dream come true.

Fast forward to last night, the second night we sleep in our dorms. So I was still a wee bit paranoid as nighttime fell, but eventually I fell into a deep sleep. I'm woken up again in the middle of the night from the sound of our door opening, and I see my roommate standing in the light of the door, staring at me in my bed. And I scream a little, and I was pretty sure I was gonna die... but apparently she just had to go to the bathroom.

Take 2

Alright new day, new hat. So I woke up this morning and spent at least two minutes trying to find my alarm clock in the pitch black that was my room. I finished my research before lunch today so now Im just trying to figure out how I can incorporate it with the rest of my story. In a couple of hours we all leave for Super Happy Fun Time which to be honest sounds like the opening band at a Wiggles concert but hopefully it will be fun.

Senior Privileges

Hey guys, as you all know, I'm writing about senior privileges for my article, and I wanted to hear about different privileges that seniors get at your high school, so if you could leave a comment hear listing some senior privileges and what you think about them that would be great! It would also help if you told me the name of your school and if its public or private
Thanks a bunch!
Vanessa

The first night...

...I had the CRAZIEST dream.

As most dreams do, it started off with nothing too out of the ordinary. Me and two friends were hiking in a forest. We were going down a trail when we crossed a meadow and decided to stop and get a drink of water. We stopped, put our packs down and got out our water-bottles. And then, I started hallucinating. I'm not talking the-grass-turned-a-different-color types of hallucinations. I'm talking the my-water-bottle-is-talking-to-me-about-politics types of hallucinations. However, my water-bottle wasn't talking talking to me. I saw a bear coming out of the woods we had just come from. One of the dancing, Grateful Dead bears nonetheless. He just moseyed on over to me. And of course, I started freaking out. HEY GUYS LOOK AT THIS BEAR. But it was a hallucination, so they couldn't see it. They finished their water and started getting ready to go. The bear winked at me and then continued in the opposite direction. I woke up shortly after that.

Well, that's what I get for listening to Porcupine Tree before going to bed.

Day One

I write this as I am sitting in our afternoon class on day two. Although the temperature of our room on Monday morning felt like Siberia's, I was surprisingly able to focus and learn some more about journalism. As we perused through newspaper articles, we brainstormed ideas for our own. I decided to write my article on the effects of the recession on education. How teachers are being treated and how that translates into how much knowledge students will gain. I think this will be interesting, considering most of my family teaches. I need to work on my article now, but I will probably write later today... that is if I stay awake.

UGA Day Two.

This day has already been so much better than yesterday! I woke up later and got to go to the UGA bookstore to get gifts for my family (and an umbrella for myself). I can't wait for tomorrow when we get to go to downtown Athens, of course because of the shopping. Tonight is called Super Fun Happy Time... I'm a little weirded out by the name but hopefully it'll be exciting. Breakfast was much better this morning, and hopefully it will be better tomorrow, too. I went to the lunch meeting with my friend, which was actually very interesting. I can't wait to see the final product of everyone's hard work on friday!

Day Two Flying By

Woke up this morning and took a nice jog. Needed to raise my heart rate and feel the pavement beneath my feet for awhile. Ah, how relaxing! Currently in the morning class. Attended a press conference with Dean Clark this morning which was definitely beneficial for my article. But this should not be a detailed itinerary of my life and it's time to get back to the battle for the Fine Arts. So for now, happy blogging!

Day Two

I am sitting in my morning class trying to keep my eyelids open. Despite sleeping like a baby last night, I still feel exhausted... and starving. I barely ate breakfast. Well, we're starting to research and write our articles which I am super excited about. We have a lunch break at twelve and then we're going to stop at the bookstore then go back for the budget meeting and afternoon class. Tonight's activity is Super Fun Happy Time at Funopolis. I have no clue what to expect. The website looks fun... rock climbing, roller coaster stimulator, go-karts, tornado, water wars, etc. But websites can be deceiving. I guess we'll see. Well, I am going to try to focus on my article and less on my grumbling tummy. Until later... :)

Relaxing for day two

Downward dog still got you down? You're not alone. I did yoga last night with my roommate to help unwind from the action packed day yesterday. Rather than flood me with relief, it left me feeling more like a wind up toy. Running this morning is a completely different story. Light breeze and elevated heart rate left me more than ready to interview Dean Clark. I even skipped my morning coffee. How relaxing are these "relaxation" exercises?

I'm ready to start my editorial on the excess pressure high school students face when applying to colleges. Looking for different solutions to propose for relaxation. Guess I can cross yoga off the list.

First Day of Classes

I really enjoyed the first day of classes at UGA Journalism Camp. The class has a good amount of people in it, not to big and not to small. 12 is a good number. Also, I chose my topic to write about (Senior Privileges) which I think is going be fun to research and write about.

Monday, June 7, 2010

First Day.

All in all, it was a better day than I expected.

I thought that we would be awkwardly sitting around a table as we would be lectured for a full session about editorial journalism, but I was proven wrong. It was a more active discussion based class where everyone was allowed to have their own voice.

The rest of the day went by smoothly and I'm glad the camp is more laid back.
I'm a little excited to write my article and to research more about my topic.

New Beginnings

I was nervous.

I hate first days because you either make a bunch of friends or you become the awkward kid who tags along with everyone as they go back and forth. I'm usually the awkward kid who tags along, but at UGA, everyone is friends with everyone. They stick forward their hands as they automatically introduce themselves with a smile, and my nervousness eventually melts away.

I think I'm gonna like it here.

First Day at UGA.

Class went really well today, and I'm so excited that we don't have any homework! I can't wait to write my op-ed article about Dress Code. The best part of this day has probably been making new friends! I'm a little concerned about tomorrow nights activity, called "Super Happy Fun Day". It sounds a little cheesy, but I hope it'll be better than I expect. Overall, its been a good day and I'm excited for the rest of the week!

We're in the Ghetto?!

How do you summarize the first day is such a short post? It started... early; 6:30 to be exact. It's not that we had to get up that early, it's just that I couldn't sleep. I guess it was a combination of all the excitement that was building and the fact that I couldn't keep my body warm to save my life. Am I the only one who thinks the dorms are beyond freezing in the wee hours of the morning? Class blew my expectations out of the water. I thought we would be lectured at for hours on end, but we actually had conversations and shared thoughts and ideas which makes the time pass by a lot quicker. Dinner came and went. Let's just say I'll be eating cereal and ice cream every night this week. We were given less than stellar directions to get back to the dorm from dinner so we kinda got lost. We ended up on a random street somewhere near what a white girl would call the ghetto. With some good intuitions and luck we made it back safely. The rest of the night when in a blur. Bowling was fun, but hanging out and gossiping is even better.

Tomorrow I'm going to work on my article, how far is too far? Miley Cyrus is a prime example of how fast some celebrities grow up and how society judges them. Well, I am going to wrap this up. Have a great night. More to come tomorrow. :)

The Politics of Politics

Today was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be, not only did I come up with an idea fairly quickly but I'm proud of it as well. I decided to write about how teenagers frequently duplicate their parents political beliefs, and how by not doing research and making decisions for themselves they are ultimately limiting their political and mental growth. With my idea already formulated I now concentrate on the research my position will demand so I will update it tomorrow, peace!

How reliable was this first interview?

I spoke to my school superintendent (of Pike County) this afternoon on the topic of how much of each fiscal year's budget is allotted for sports and how much is allotted for the Fine Arts. Mr. Duncan (the superintendent) stated that there is, "no state or federal funding for sports," and that the "school only pays for coaches." In addition he said that, "Fine Arts is payed for out of taxes." In this case, if sports (football in particular) are receiving no money outside of what they raise with booster clubs and ticket sales, shouldn't our fine arts departments be a bit better off than the many various sports teams?
